Walls
We live in a country and likely a world full of them. I’m not talking about the ones that hold up physical structures but instead the ones that block out societal and economical success. The topic is “Walls.” While a very simple word the effects of the word can be vast and almost irreversible.
A friend sent me a post from a YouTube content creator: Hollywood Time Capsule, the post was discussing TV host Johnny Carson’s 9 worst racist guests. I will not walk you through the post but it’s linked below the picture, bolded, and underlined. You will see the names and almost none are too surprising other than a comedian and someone else who has the enormous platform of children’s entertainment.
This post isn’t so much about who they are so I won’t name them. If you’re interested feel free to look into them. The post IS about their influence and how their platform gave them the ability to create boundaries and narratives that walled out other Americans who looked different than them and had other life experiences to draw from than they had.
The crazy thing is these people aren’t hiding. There is a list of, at least, 12 renowned stars who are known for their bigotry. You can literally go to YouTube or Google and add to the list all the stars who are like minded in these beliefs or similar beliefs like sexism or homophobia, etc. These “stars” are open in their views and they make a living supporting “walls” being built to block out other people’s voices, rights, and ability to exist. One of these powerful names was quoted in saying he supported white supremacy until blacks were educated enough to contribute.
There are powerful people who make it a living to promote these divides. They cannot live comfortably without a chasm separating them from the people they take from. That’s the larger truth because it’s a world of influencer’s who have gained popularity from taking support, love, and admiration from the exact same people they want to further marginalize. These marginalized people are of multiple races, ethnicities, genders, and identities. The influencers make a living off of being professional “wall” makers. They have created the monopoly of division.
We allow their false narratives. We allow their criminality. We allow them the access to corrupt our children and their environments. They are in all places in our society, not just media. Every time you have had a teacher kicked you or a friend out of class or school for doing the exact same thing others did without consequence you were witnessing an influencer placing up walls at what is likely the first platform they attack “schools.” Later in life, while in the workforce, when you have bosses who have you carry less qualified buddies of theirs who show up when they want and do what they want. The same influencers who mention things like “merit” and “qualifications” on jobs they don’t have the skills to do but don’t mind you training them or doing the work for them.
These influencers work hard pressing their influence on everyone else to “stay in their place.” When they feel outshined they consider you “uppity” for simply recognizing your own worth. The reason these influencers work so hard to set up these walls is because they’ve been trying so hard to return to another title they fill is more appropriate than “influencer” or “star.” They would much rather to have the title “master.”
There are so many who want to quiet this discussion and play it off as if it’s not valid or progressive enough to bring to the table of discussion. Of course, other peoples issues are not valid because they’re not your problems. That is actually correct, though. Is it? Every military person who is silent right now while their leaders play down their importance or intelligence and then in the same breath say they love the troops, those same troops are allowing themselves to be the slaves of new masters. Every cop who issues cruelty or stands by while ICE issues out cruelties is sitting back watching their replacements change the standards while being less qualified to actually make a just, stand for liberty.
Being a puppet is the equivalent of being a slave. Why do you think our most necessary jobs: teachers. nurses, law enforcement, and soldiers are paid so low by comparison to media “influencers?” Our world system. especially here in America is setup on the simplest structure. If you have a voice that gains attention and you can make those in power more powerful, that is the only thing they value. Athletes, actors, social media voices have made the money they do by being the investment of the true “influencers.” It’s simply washing the backs of the rich in order to get rich. Now. our teachers, law enforcement, and soldiers are simply trying to play catch up and who cares about the marginalized fools who don’t want to '“play ball,” right? They don’t fit in with “Western Culture” and “aren’t true Americans” anyways, right? Everyone else, whether birthright citizens or not, needs to be deported, right?
Some of us have had these “walls” our entire life. Marginalized since birth. Wrong skin, wrong gender, wrong religion. All of these things are simple talking points for a rigged system. Nothing new to see hear. Eyes open! Don’t turn your heads! This is the structure that we all hold so dear. It is a circular structure built on influence to create the walls that support the masters and keep them feeling safe. Pink Floyd told you all this before. You still will deny it while humming the tune to yourself. Wake up! Break down the Walls!!!
ECHO THE COMMAND!!!!!
